UNCG makes its annual trip to Charleston to face C of C and The Citadel, so I'm combining the two games into one thread.

The game at Charleston is Thursday with a 7 P.M tip.

Two days later, the Spartans take on The Citadel Bulldogs at 7 P.M.

We lost to both these teams in Fleming earlier this year, but hopefully the outcomes will be different in these two games.

Wow ... 5 games in 9 days is rough. The team looked tired for the entire first half in Greenville. Can't wait to see how they look for these 2 games.

We've had very little success against CofC on their floor. However, we gave them their worst home loss in something like 20 years last season. The Citadel has been on a nice roll lately, winning @ Samford 70-45 on Monday night. I guess Samford used all of the 3's up against G last Saturday.

Sorry I haven't had anything much in the way of updates on my blog this week. Taking 4 days off has left me massively behind at work.

Charleston literally cannot miss and it's 19-6 right now.

We have no guards. No guards at all. Wish we could purge and start over in that department.

Next year with Cole coming in, we will have one of the most talented front lines UNCG has ever had. Too bad there is nobody getting them the ball and we have a walk-on starting at PG.

Oh well.

Ah, the turnovers, couldn't hit a shot....oh wait i didn't listen or watch. Was it as bad as the score indicated?

Like I said in another post...Koivisto is kinda regressing.

Did Oliver not play anywhere close to okay? He has talent so hopefully it's just taking him a little time to adjust...Smith on the other hand is a little overwhelmed.

Nick, I think you could blindly write that after every game and almost be spot on. However, we didn't turn the ball over too many times (8 times) last night. We just couldn't stop CofC at all.

I've been waiting for Mikko to get the KO-type attitude and start attacking the basket. Instead, he seems content to just back up when he's being guarded closely.

None of the PG's played huge mintues. Spooner-14 min, Oliver-14 min, Smith-4 min. Here's the box score.

I actually only got to see parts of the game. My brother-in-law (who played college lacrosse in Texas) talked me into going over to Wake for a lacrosse game between UNCG & Wake. Wake won 16-2.

Okay, see I was thinking the same thing and the sad thing is having watch UNCG for several years; Oleksiak is not even in the top 5 of our shoot guards, but he is light years better than what we have this year.

Oliver and Smith are a failed experiment. Neither has done much of anything at the point and I don't see them getting much better. Oliver scored 30+ a game in HS, we should move him to the 2-guard and let him drive and dish.

I don't know what to do at this point. I'm glad to see Toney getting more minutes. On offense at least he can drive (if he would).

Mikko has me baffled.

Eargle and Stywall.....phenomenal.

Eargle set a career record for blocks last night (5). He is going to be a 20 point a game scorer by senior year and he leads the league in blocks (all players not just freshmen). IF we can only get these guys some capable help, we'd win a whole lot more games.

I hope they're grooming Eargle to be a 3. Imagine in a few years a frontline of Eargle, Bone & Cole (with Sellers, Jackson and Brown subbing in).

If we only had a PG ...

Last year, I would complain about KO, saying that he handled the ball too much. 5 minutes into the Webber game this year, my buddy made the statement that KO would be the starting PG on this team and never come out of the lineup.

Has Bone played too much to get a redshirt?

I believe he has -- he's played in eleven games and you can't play in more than 30 percent of your team's regular season games and still redshirt, and we only play 29 regular season games. I think a conference tournament game can be added to total number of games played, but that still puts Bone over the limt.

Looks like Spoon is slated to start again. Come on Spartans, a win would help to build confidence going into the Davidson game.

Put up my preview for tonights game.

UNCG is getting 11 points by most betting lines I saw. I don't think we'll even get close to covering. Hope I'm wrong. At least it's on Spartan All-access and I don't have anything else planned. So, I can watch the trainwreck.

Citadel up 27-24 with 3 to go (1st half). Refs are almost refusing to call a foul on the G end of the court.

Good 'ol Spartan all-access isn't working for me.
